Helga Blanke The Netherlands
I am Helga Blanke. Flowers, still life’s, landscapes, are the colorful subjects of my photography art. I’m a wife and mother of two grown-ups, trying to keep one step ahead from them, computer wise that is. I succeeded with little steps. All my life I have been creative. I have done lots, from Crafts with thread & needle(s) to papercutting art and drawing & painting with brushes and pencils. Allergies forced me to make a lot of changes, so one day I decided to buy a camera and teach myself to make photos. I started with an analogue camera with film role. Every role was sent in to be printed. The first digital consumer DSLR came out and in 2003 I bought one. After a few years of experimenting, the computer came in sight and I was lost! The first composed photo I made in 2009. I used various programs but ended up mainly with Photoshop. I learned myself a lot, but somewhere in 2016 that ended: you can’t teach yourself everything. Then I found the Photoshop Artistry Course (later followed by Awake & Kaizen) and decided to step in. That was the best decision I ever made, I learned a lot. Now I can “paint” again, that is, with computer and camera of course. I love flowers, still life’s and cityscapes and love to go outside with my camera but eventually I’ll end up behind my computer, where my main subject comes to life, in an altered reality.
